INTRODUCING: MAD SKILZ

Hello everybody! First I want to thank everyone so much for jumping into the game, and already making it a blast! We are super excited to share what we've got planned with you and are loving every ridiculous question and Assistant conversation and everything else so far.

Since this is the Beta, we are trickling in things bit by bit, and we have decided that we have enough basic skills set up that we are releasing a beginning list! You can find them at the skill page here. Please let us know if anything is unclear; we are very open to feedback!

Additionally, as both a thank you to everyone's enthusiasm and as a way of testing out how the skills work in game, everyone who is both in beta and participated on the TDM gets to take (1) 100-level skill that doesn't require a pre-req for FREE. Learn how to find things! Get made stuff to stick around! Type into a journal somehow!!

Thank you all again, and we hope you enjoy!

GOT SOME QUESTIONS.

Bear with me, I am rather sleep deprived and what are words? How 2think. It looks idiot proof, but I am a superior level of idiot!

The listing of current skills, are those the points needed to acquire them, or are those the level of the skill? [100] is one point? What about [155]?

I feel like these are intended to be library index flavored, which is reasonable and expected for a library game, but I'm not sure what skills cost what number of points, what is actually open to us right now, and what will potentially be at the end of AC when we get our potential 2 points more to work with.

In an IC sense, how are skills like Background Reading 1 and 2 handled? Is it literally reading/watching a video, or just 'knowing stuff'? If the latter, is there a particular way that knowing stuff must be done, or can it be folded into already present abilities/powers? Like say, SecUnit getting a new popup in its feed, or Curze's foresight.

I feel like we should have wine in the kitchenette so we can know things and drink.

I did not have til now the context of everything with a 1 at the front being a level 100 skill, (if this is mentioned anywhere besides right here I completely missed it!) and thus had to wonder if we have two skills to pick from right now/available to us, both of the ones specifically labeled 100. And from there wondering how long it'd take to get 50 points to get a 150 skill.. It's more clear now, thank you.

So reasonably everything with a 2 is a two-point skill and so on down the line. Okay.

Oh, it does help, yes! I'm sure most people figured it out without that being on there but i have zero processing power sob

How much flexibility is there in how characters pick up / interpret the mechanics of their skills?

(E.g. could SecUnit view the keyboard skills as it hacking its journal to add one, etc)

...Now I'm picturing a keyboard ducked taped to a journal XD though I also kinda like the idea of sadly manifesting a keypad

But yeah, mostly I'm trying to figure out the logistics of '...how does a paper journal suddenly gain a typing feature', and wondering what the boundaries of that are. Good to know that creative liberties are indeed possible!
