NEXT WEEK ON MOONLIT RIVALS- The Masquerade is in full swing! Partying, dancing, drinking, and perhaps a fun little game in the hedge maze. On the other side of town, the werewolves who are not sneaking into the party cause a bit of mischief... and possibly get into an unintended fight, uhoh. What will happen next???


Which is to say, no full round up this week, BUT feel free to plot out what's going on with your characters in our next log here!

Jun is mostly hanging out in neutral territory/werewolf territory and hanging around the troupe. I have some vague plans:

Nyla is continuing her investigations into the sewer cryptid which is complicated by the fact that she knows it's good ol' Murderteeth Night Haunter. Anyone want to explore the sewers and have her try to save you?

ALSO she's going to be turned into a vampire at the Masquerade. Does anyone want to be her date? (of any faction)?

John is hanging out in neutral territory. Anyone is free to come to him for advice as far as the feud goes.

Iren is perfectly at home dealing with high society functions and moving among the wealthy elite. She is also, however, a coward. She would benefit from having a bodyguard to make sure no one tries to eat her.

So Rakia is not quite at home in dealing with high society functions but is also very experienced with preventing humans from getting eaten, I believe there's something mutually beneficial in here somewhere.

Claire Ryefield, werewolf Kara Churchland, human wearing rose and clove perfume and her troupe the Blood Moon Troupe The Crystal Ermines will be playing music it’s Bikini Kill and also canon Magica Riot songs by the Furs and putting on The Tin Soldier’s March, or, The Tragedie of Ierico and his Harlequin Claire will explain the punchline to this one after The End.

She may give Armin and/or Amalia people gay Riot Grrl songs sapphic sonnets, tease Like Thee, and blush until her hair is the color of Sara Ward’s Iscandar’s hair.

Hit her up at the party, she’ll graze the buffet and take requests.

ETA: And because she’s at the Masquerade, this means that she’s not at the Laurelthirst (and neither is Lily, but Amalia MIGHT BE!) leaving Nova and Cass to hold down the fort while every werewolf who resents their being welcoming to vampires might want to make an example of them. So if anyone wants to plot THAT, let me know!

Sumi will be at the masquerade, with an assist from Sigrid! Surely nothing will go wrong.

Illumination has staked out and warded a building.

They've offered up space for any other Reader that wants to stay there. The building itself is rough, but they're slowly repairing it. There's pallets, dodgy stew, and glamours as needed.

Vague Plans:
- offer IC glamours for fancy masquerade reasons.
- ???
- profit.
- If anyone requires a Stadler to their Waldorf at the masquerade, Lu would be more than happy to be a plus-one.
- Lu's glamours are good, but imperfect. If anyone wants to catch them out, I'm good to thread that as well.

We should have more of SecUnit and Illumination awkwardly hanging around at their abandoned building (well, I don't know if Lu will be awkward, but SecUnit definitely will be)

SecUnit may have begrudgingly helped with repairs sometimes. Very, very begrudgingly. (Does Lu ever need someone real strong to move stuff?)

Lu is very good at blithely ignoring their awkwardness and that of others.

Heavy lifting would be lovely. They can do the work of tidying up the upstairs, but the basement/sewer access door needs work. Let's say something like the door needs rehanging? We could do a bit of that and they can chatter about, idk, whatever appeals.

Sure! Probably the best way for it to get involved too would be for Lu to clearly struggle with / not be able to do the task themselves (as otherwise SecUnit's not so likely to help it tends to resent being asked to do menial work that humans should be doing themselves. So yeah, perhaps the basement door is made out of something too heavy for Lu to manage?

Haha WELP SecUnit's not gonna be a fan of that at all it's already not keen on random murder, and it is EVEN LESS KEEN on evidence of said random murders being deposited at its doorstep...

Curze is not attending the masquerade, he simply will never be short enough to pass as a normal vampire. He will however be lurking, like an overgrown helicopter, in case his brainwashed Actor brothers run into vampire trouble or something.

And actively hunting criminals to eat. Delicious criminals.

I'm debating whether or not SecUnit should encounter Curze while he's going around murdering criminals somehow I'm don't think SecUnit's going to be a fan of that approach haha, Curze wtf are you doing

Jadis is not going to the masquerade! I can probably fit in another thread or two for her on that day but, principally, she's hanging out with the Werewolf Master. In trying to avert one catastrophe, another is pushed to the fore.

Loic will be going to sneaking into the Gala along with Siobhan, and will basically have protecting her as his primary goal. He's going to have to be in human form though, which he won't be fond of.

Murderbot won't be going to the Gala, because fuck that. So it might end up dealing with the other mischief that happens?

More generally, though - I want to get it more actively involved in and around the neutral territory. So...would anyone involved there like to do anything with Murderbot? (It is currently residing in Illumination's abandoned house.)

Eliza has several options for what she'll be up to. She might try to sneak in under an illusion, or in mouse form, especially if someone wants a spying buddy. Depending on how much is going on outside the masquerade, she might also be out there checking out what's going on.

Our good friend Hikaru Aozora, 光青空, here pronounced "Lucas Azuresky" will be at the party looking after Nero and conspiring with Armin and through the Reply All skill he just got. He is also instructing people to use the 光 kanji as the sign that It's This Guy alright and may try to get a chop with it.

He may also be conjuring ice for drinks and making shaved ice with his Mage Hand as a party trick or otherwise doing Evocation Things or learning healing at the behest of his new bosses. He will almost CERTIANLY be teaching Nero how to Substitute Aura for defense rolls ward himself with instinctive Mage Shields.

Rakia is going to be going to the Masquerade just because he figures it's an important Thing happening here, and he is not exactly the most patient with this sort of thing. His experience with aristocats and the like boils down to taking shitty jobs for them or perhaps trying to back up a friend's assassination attempt upon the Granute president so it's not like he's thrilled with this development.

Wreck is a werewolf named Láng Yìchén for this Story and has been primarily hanging out in neutral/werewolf territory. He'll be going to the masquerade, but he's doing his best to be True Neutral and not get involved with all the clashing that's going on.

Unfortunately, the masquerade is just about the only time and place he can meet with a specific vampire in public without drawing more attention than he prefers.
